Capitol Hill Visitor's Center
Capitol Hill is the home to both the United States Senate and the House of Representatives. The Capitol Hill Visitor's Center is adjacent to Capitol Hill and is filled with so many amazing things to see and learn about the home of the Legislative Branch to the United States Government.
Capitol Hill construction began in 1793 in a place that bears little resemblance to what you see today in DC. By November 1800, the North Wing of the building was completed and Congress had a place to finally call its permanent home. Over the years many construction projects and additions have been completed on the building until it has become what you see standing proudly today.
At the Visitor's Center you will have a great opportunity to learn so much more about the building, its history, and many of the famous people who have worked as Senators or Representatives in Washington DC. The Center itself encompasses over 580,000 square feet of space, making it 75% the size of the actual Capitol Building.
