Tips for Visiting Washington DC Museums
When your group decides to visit any of the museums in Washington DC, there may be times when there are lines to enter. These are normally very short, so do not be alarmed if you encounter a line. Most of the museums have strict security checks once you enter the building. Be sure to carry proper identification before entering and be ready to have any of your person items, such as bags or purses searched. The museums do not offer places for you to store your bags or coats.
Most of the museums are located within a short walk from the Capitol Building and are on or near the National Mall. Almost all of the Smithsonian Museums are located in this area as are the Holocaust Museum and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. The National Archives and the Spy Museum are located nearby as well.
